名詞として
following 「以下（の文）」
例：I'd like to know the following.
例：Please read the following.

箇条書きの例：

形容詞として
例：the following month

as follows「次の通りです」
例：The reasons are as follows.
例：The results are as follows: First was Tom, then Ben, then Pat.
